ANALYST/PROGRAMMER (HEW6)

(6 month fixed term, full time position)

ECU Information Delivery Systems requires an Analyst/Programmer to work on the Callista Student Management System and other Student related systems for a period of approximately 6 months (Dec 2008 to June 2009), located at Joondalup campus.


Indicative tasks include:

  • Development and maintenance on the various student systems, primarily Callista Student Management System
  • Analysis, design & development for new systems/components
  • General systems troubleshooting
  • Participation in project planning and implementation tasks as required

The position will report to the Project Leader (Information Delivery Systems: Student Systems). The position will be utilizing the following technologies:

  • Oracle Forms & Reports
  • Oracle SQL / PLSQL
  • Oracle BI Publisher
  • Oracle Application Express (APEX)
  • Oracle Discoverer
  • Oracle Portal
  • JSP
  • HTML, Javascript, XML and other Web technologies
  • Linux and Windows OS
  • Others as required

Although previous experience in these particular technologies is not mandatory, the incumbent should possess solid programming fundamentals, basic understanding of the software development lifecycle, good communication and interpersonal skills and enthusiasm for working as part of a development team.


This position attracts remuneration of $63,068 to $68,249 pa including University superannuation contribution, with a salary component of $57,861 to $62,614 pa.

Extensity is the WA based JD Edwards Sales and Service representative company and an Oracle Certified Partner. Due to a growing demand for development consulting services within the Development Group an excellent opportunity exists for a JD Edwards Graduate Analyst/Developer to fulfil a permanent opportunity.

Join a small team helping to develop new applications using the JD Edwards toolset for a variety of Oracle JD Edwards ERP clients. This will include:

  • Analyse user requirements and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Specifying and developing new applications.
  • Modifying existing applications.
  • Researching & resolving issues identified with systems.
  • Documenting all systems as they are developed or modified.
  • Onsite Training will be provided through the Extensity Mentoring program.

  • We are seeking a Graduate Analyst/Developer with:

    Vacation Position with the WestNet Infrastructure Group

    The WestNet Infrastructure Group requires one IT student to work with its Applications Management Team on their Microsoft SharePoint Integration Project.

    A suitable applicant should have Web Development and/or MS Sharepoint experience.

    The specific work would include:
  • Gathering requirements for SharePoint
  • Scoping and designing the solution in SharePoint
  • Deploying the PMO Portal
  • Deploying the Master Application List Portal
  • Deploying Active Directory integration with SharePoint
  • Other SharePoint integration tasks

  • This is a 12 week placement, running from the 24th of November to the 13th of February, and is based in the Perth CDB.

    India Student Ambassador Program (February 2009) - Some places now available

    The Student Ambassador Program to India is running in February 2009. The student tour will be visiting a number of cities across India.

    A few places have become available, due to some students not being able to take up offers. Numbers need to be finalized by the end of the week.     It is also possible to obtain unit credit towards your course if you participate in the Ambassador Program.
