Co-operative Education for Enterprise Development (CEED)

The CEED programme aims to provide high achieving final year undergraduate and postgraduate students with suitable projects which:

As a forum for industry/education cooperation the CEED Programme aims to:

In its broadest sense, the programme fosters co-operation between companies and educational institutions in the training of graduates in technological fields. Such graduates will play an important role in the Australia of tomorrow. In helping to fulfil this function of the programme, companies can ensure they are working for their own benefit too. A project which targets a company specific skill requirement will create a pool of students competant in those areas which are of strategic significance.

The CEED Programme offers companies an opportunity to look at their perceived needs now and in the future and to take advantage of this training platform to develop skills and expertise in areas of need in a cost-effective manner.

It can be seen by forward looking companies as a chance to tackle problems or seize opportunities that would otherwise be neglected because existing resources cannot be diverted.

Suitable projects could be in any of the following areas:

Projects are normally of one or two semesters duration, with students expected to commit a minimum of 2 days per week to the project. Each project has an academic supervisor who meets regularly with the student and client and oversees the project throughout.

Companies are encouraged to consider the possibility of team projects. In this case, the mutual support and increased skill base provided by team members often means the scope of the project can be increased considerably. The creation of multidisciplinary teams can greatly expand the scope of project possibilities. Teams can gain considerable strength by including a student from another discipline.

Projects are costed according to their duration and number of students.

FINALLY .....

This is NOT a work experience programme. Only top students are involved in CEED. They are fully supervised and backed up by the resources of the Edith Cowan University. Each project is professionally managed by the CEED office.

Our graduates are part of your company's future. CEED gives you the chance to be actively involved in their professional development.
